As actor Jung Kyung-ho (43) and Sooyoung (36) have broken up after 14 years of a public relationship, a past moment when Jung was flustered by a marriage question has resurfaced.
On the 9th, Sooyoung's agency acknowledged the breakup between Jung Kyung-ho and Sooyoung. A representative said that Jung Kyung-ho and Choi Soo-young had grown distant from each other due to increasingly busy schedules and recently broke up.
With the news breaking, a moment from last December when actor Jung Kyung-ho showed a flustered reaction to a question about marriage with Sooyoung drew renewed attention.
At the production presentation for the drama ‘Pro Bono’, MC Park Kyung-lim asked Jung Kyung-ho, “Is Kang Da-wit (Jung Kyung-ho's role in the series) not an issue-maker? Is there anything to announce?” When Jung answered, “No,” director Kim Sung-yoon asked again, “At least a date, then.”
Given that Jung Kyung-ho had been in a long-term relationship with Sooyoung at the time, it appeared to be an indirect question about a wedding date. In response, Jung waved it off, saying, “What date? Don't talk nonsense.”
As Jung Kyung-ho and Sooyoung have been regarded as one of the entertainment industry's representative long-running couples, if the breakup reports are true, the shock among fans is likely to be considerable. Online, reactions such as “I thought they would make it to marriage,” “They were a representative celebrity couple, this is surprising,” and “I still can't believe it” are continuing.
