Actor Kwon So-hyun has unveiled the first still showing her elegant and aloof transformation into Han I-jin, a ‘powerhouse actor’ in the drama.

The new drama ‘Empathy Cells’ (written by Jeong Yeon, Kim Seong-rae / directed by Kim Chil-bong / presented by A+E Global Media / produced by Wemade, LG U+, MBC C&I), scheduled to air in July, is a romantic comedy about a woman who denies empathy and a man burdened with empathy, who intrude into each other's worlds through a surreal event called ‘emotional transfer’ and learn to feel again.

In the story, Kwon So-hyun plays Han I-jin, who failed to come into the spotlight during her idol days after being overshadowed by Yoo Ji-an (played by Kang Min-ah) but has been on a winning streak since switching to acting. Now recognized as an actor for her excellent performances, Han I-jin feels superiority when watching Yoo Ji-an, who faces acting-ability controversies every time, yet secretly harbors jealousy over Ji-an, whose star power remains undimmed. Kwon So-hyun is expected to delve deeply into Han I-jin's complex inner life, creating taut tension in the narrative.

The Han I-jin character Kwon So-hyun portrays not only calibrates the drama's tension by standing in sharp opposition to Yoo Ji-an but is also set to draw viewers in with a love-hate arc that has continued since their idol ‘I Want’ days.

The first still, unveiled on the 10th, captures an elegant yet aloof moment of Han I-jin, completed in Kwon So-hyun's own color, drawing attention. Through glowing visuals and varied styling, Kwon So-hyun exudes a more mature allure, hinting at the acting transformation she will present in ‘Empathy Cells’.

Kwon So-hyun commands the atmosphere with her sharp gaze alone, heightening curiosity about the unfolding plot.
