Ji Chang-min (THE BOYZ Q), lead of ‘My Idol, My Debut’, announced the start of the drama’s universe by unveiling a refreshing school-uniform look for the first time.

Taking on his first lead role since debut through the MBC Plus drama ‘My Idol, My Debut’, Ji Chang-min (THE BOYZ Q) signaled the ‘beginning of the universe’ with a refreshing school-uniform visual that rewrites first-love memories.

Through the official SNS channel (@myidolmydebut), the team behind the drama ‘My Idol, My Debut’ made a surprise release of Ji Chang-min’s first character stills as ‘Han Jae-ha’, a core member of the in-drama boy group ‘BOY TO THE MOON’ and the center of the narrative, along with the first story content.

The drama ‘최애 데뷔(My Idol, My Debut)’ (directed by Han Geum-bi; written by Choi Yeon-su; produced by Minari Entertainment) is a time-slip coming-of-age story about a devoted fan who goes back eight years, becomes an idol trainee, and strives to change fate to prevent a tragic accident.

‘My Idol, My Debut’ is Korea’s first linked IP model in which a fictional team within the story actually releases music and performs on stage, and it has been drawing major attention even before broadcast as an original project aimed at the tastes of the MZ generation.

In the released photos, Ji Chang-min naturally pulls off Han Jae-ha’s high-school uniform styling, drawing the eye. Seated at a desk with a bright smile, he exudes fresh boyish charm, while in a shot where he gazes at something within the camera frame, he creates an atmosphere as if harboring a deep backstory, heightening curiosity about the character.

The first story content released alongside the stills draws attention with Han Jae-ha’s intriguing confession: “There was a friend in my school days who gave me courage. If it hadn’t been for that kid, I wouldn’t be where I am now. I hope that friend will hear this song somewhere.” The existence of a friend not yet revealed, the hidden story between the two, and the forthcoming music and narrative all stoke curiosity, and even a single still foreshadows both the thrill of youth and a coming-of-age arc.

With this project marking the first step of his full-fledged acting journey, Ji Chang-min sets out on a new challenge grounded in the experience and stage command he has accumulated as a leading global K-POP artist. He is expected to fully leverage the strength of ‘reality idol acting’, presented firsthand by an idol at the center of the real K-POP scene, to deliver an unprecedented level of synchronicity. He is anticipated to depict, with density, the fiery passion of youth racing toward debut, the wistful growing pains, and even the fine emotional lines within, proving his potential as an actor.

The MBC Plus drama ‘My Idol, My Debut’ is garnering attention as a new work by writer Choi Yeon-su, who penned the romantic-comedy drama ‘Shooting Stars’, and it has completed a star-studded casting lineup including Ji Chang-min, Lee Jin-hyuk, Hwang Jia, Jeong Ji-an, WOOAH Nana, tripleS Kaede, and Aisa.
