The animal-rights documentary ‘The Possibilists’ has released 15 press stills ahead of its July opening.

‘The Possibilists’ is a work that documents the front lines of South Korea’s animal-rights movement from 2011 to 2024. From dolphin liberation to ending dog-meat consumption, it follows 13 years of five women activists who have tackled, one by one, challenges once considered difficult. It is directed by Park I Yoon-jung, produced by Vegan Dust and Blue Dot Film, and distributed by ㈜Inol Media.

The released press stills include scenes of dolphin rescues and efforts to protect marine life, antidog-meat campaigns, and the realities of factory farming. They also feature activists meeting citizens on the streets and documenting the field, as well as interviews with people who have continued the movement in their respective roles.

Director Park I Yoon-jung has worked as a vegan content creator, addressing animal-rights issues. As works that have squarely spotlighted the history of South Korea’s animal-rights movement have been rare, this documentary places significance on compiling that record.

‘The Possibilists’ has reportedly been invited to domestic and international film festivals including the ICAA International Animal and Environment Film Festival, the Seoul Animal Film Festival, the Gwangju Women’s Film Festival, the Toronto International Vegan Film Festival, and the Busan Haeundae International Animal Film Festival. ‘The Possibilists’ will open in theaters nationwide this July.
