Choi Soo-young, an actress formerly of Girls’ Generation who recently made headlines after announcing her breakup with actor Jung Kyung-ho, will step onto an official stage.

On the morning of the 13th, Choi Soo-young is scheduled to attend the ‘12th Eoullim Marathon with the Visually Impaired’ held at World Cup Park in Sangam-dong, Seoul. Also joining the event are Representative Kim Ye-ji, footballers Jo Won-hee and Park Joo-ho, and comedian Kim Hye-sseon and spouse.

This will be Choi Soo-young’s fifth year participating. She has continued to take part in this event, spreading positive influence. Coincidentally, it is drawing attention as her first public appearance since ending her 14-year relationship with Jung Kyung-ho.

Beyond this race, Choi Soo-young has carried out good deeds for the visually impaired and patients with inherited retinal diseases. In 2023, she donated 300 million KRW to the Hyangseol Medical Research Institute at Soonchunhyang University Bucheon Hospital to support research on developing treatments for blinding diseases.

The ‘Eoullim Marathon’ is an event where visually impaired and non-disabled participants form teams and run together, and Choi Soo-young will run the course alongside the marathoners. All proceeds from the event will be donated.

Choi Soo-young is set to return to acting on stage with the play ‘The Merchant of Venice’, which opens on July 8.
