Kim Young-ok opened up about how her daily life has changed since her husband passed away, conveying a heavy heart.
On the 10th, a video titled ‘A candid confession of feelings after bereavement from a grandmother (+ the first ceremonial first pitch by a 90-year-old grandmother)’ was released on the YouTube channel of Kim Young-ok.
In the video, while dining with the production team, Kim Young-ok spoke candidly about how her daily routine has changed since her recent bereavement. When the crew asked whether she had eaten, she said, “Since I am at home, I do not even want to eat two meals. When my husband was around, I prepared meals for him, so we inevitably ate together, but with no one here, I do not want to eat.”

When the staff worried she looked thinner, Kim replied calmly, “It is simply because I cannot bring myself to eat; it is not that I am heartsick.” She then added, “Perhaps out of my own longing, it seems I sometimes see an apparition. The image of him sitting in a chair, looking outside, catches my eye,” revealing her yearning.
She also showed self-reproach, saying, “I am sorry. It feels like it was all my fault.”
Kim Young-ok, who has been spending more time at home since the funeral, could not hide her sense of emptiness. She said, “Perhaps because I do not go out much, it suddenly feels like there is nothing to do. My heart feels hollow for no reason. I did not even want to read,” adding, “Well, I will just live as it is.”
She also expressed gratitude for fans’ concerned support. Kim said, “Thank you, everyone. It means so much that people care,” and added, “I am all right. Perhaps because there had been a long illness, I had braced myself.”
Meanwhile, Kim Young-ok’s husband, former KBS announcer Kim Young-gil, passed away on the 17th of last month at the age of 89.
