As Hollywood star John Cena gave Kim Mu-yeol a ‘shout-out’, even Netflix’s official account showed up, drawing attention.

On the 10th, Kim Mu-yeol left a comment on John Cena’s Instagram post that read “Now you can see me (now you can see me)”. The phrase is a variation on John Cena’s signature catchphrase, “You can’t see me (you can’t see me)”, which made fans laugh.

Earlier that day, John Cena posted a photo of Kim Mu-yeol, lead actor of the Netflix series ‘True Education’, on his social media without any explanation. In the series, Kim plays Na Hwa-jin, an inspector with the fictional ‘Bureau for the Protection of Teachers’ Rights’, established to fix the broken education system, and is delivering a passionate performance.

Following the release of ‘True Education’, Kim Mu-yeol drew interest from global viewers, and overseas online communities reacted by calling him the “Korean John Cena”, noting that his distinctive eyes resemble John Cena’s.

The Netflix Korea account joined in by posting an animated image comment (GIF) featuring Kim Mu-yeol in ‘True Education’, and the Netflix global account added to the buzz by commenting, “hey twin”.

Netizens reacted with comments such as “The Korean John Cena, acknowledged by John Cena himself”, “Netflix has a good sense of humor”, “At this point, they really do look alike”, and “Even the head-office account showed up”.
