Singer Yang Hee-eun shared an update that she is recovering after undergoing corneal transplant surgery.
On the 11th, on her social media, Yang Hee-eun posted a photo along with the message, “After corneal transplant surgery and discharge, I must spend several days lying down and staring at the ceiling.”
The released photo shows Yang Hee-eun resting with her right eye wrapped in a thick protective pad and bandage. Even immediately after surgery, her calm update prompted concern among fans.
She then added to her update by sharing a glimpse of her pet dog. She wrote, “Choco (my dog) sits on my belly to guard me and barks as if to attack even when Hee-kyung or Hee-jung comes near,” adding, “Am I a woman who can rest only when I am sick? Me!?” without losing her signature cheerfulness.
Earlier, on the 9th, due to eye surgery, Yang Hee-eun was absent from the live broadcast of the MBC Standard FM program ‘Women’s Era with Yang Hee-eun and Kim Il-joong’ that she hosts. During the broadcast, Kim Il-joong addressed questions from listeners, explaining, “No. It is vision-recovery surgery related to the cornea.”
Meanwhile, born in 1952, Yang Hee-eun is 73 this year. On tvN STORY’s ‘What’s the Use of Leaving It’, which aired in March, she drew attention by revealing that during the time she received great love for her signature song ‘Evergreen’, she had been diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer and given three months to live.
