YouTube channel ‘Brewer Yoon Joomo’

“I am so pleased that Joon is still growing.”

Actor Sung Dong-il and his son Sung Joon make their first joint appearance on a YouTube variety show, sharing a surprise update.

On the YouTube channel ‘Brewer Yoon Joomo’ (produced by TME Group, directed by Moon Tae-joo), premiering today the 12th at 5:30 p.m., Sung Dong-il and Sung Joon appear to share welcome updates and, at the same time, open up about thoughts they had not spoken about.

That day, Yoon Joomo (Chef Yoon Nara) says, “The child we adored on ‘Dad, Where Are We Going?’ has become a college student,” and “It is so thrilling that the little kid has grown up and come to Yoonjoodang to have a drink with his father,” sincerely welcoming their visit. The composed demeanor of Sung Joon, who has grown up so much, fills the set with warmth.

Sung Dong-il reveals an unexpected fact, saying, “Since there is no TV at home, I have not even watched ‘Culinary Class Wars,’” and, “Even when we did ‘Dad, Where Are We Going?’ with the children, I did not watch it.” Sung Joon likewise says he did not watch the broadcast back then; when he says, “These days Father sometimes shows it,” Sung Dong-il adds, “When I get nostalgic, I watch it on YouTube.”

Sung Dong-il, who said, “Having a drink with Sung Joon was a dream,” accepts Yoon Joomo's welcoming drink and, with satisfaction, raises his glass, remarking, “This is totally a pick-up drink.” Yoon Joomo jokes to Sung Joon, “Do you have a girlfriend?” and “I will give you a few bottles,” sending curiosity about how Sung Joon answered soaring straight up.

It is also revealed that Sung Joon, currently a second-year student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Hanyang University, holds two patents, which comes as a surprise. Sung Joon says, “In middle school I filed a patent with my teacher,” and “After entering a science high school, I went to a competition with friends and filed another patent,” drawing attention to what those patents are. Sung Dong-il says, “I am so pleased that Joon is still growing,” and, “Even now he thinks a great deal about the future. He says he will study psychology again, which he has been interested in for a long time,” expressing pride toward his son.

In addition, to Sung Joon, who often offers various counsel at school, including on the romantic relationships of his friends, Yoon Joomo confides, “There are many who cheer me on, but when there are malicious comments, I get hurt and become afraid,” sharing a concern. Immediately after Sung Joon's advice, Yoon Joomo is moved, saying, “Joon has such a strong mind,” heightening curiosity about what advice he gave. Sung Joon also shares about the image of his father he has respected, “What makes me think he is great is that he truly does not show tears,” and, “In fourth grade of elementary school, I saw my father sobbing for the first and only time in my life,” directing attention to Sung Dong-il's story.
