As South Korea earned a come-from-behind victory over the Czech Republic in its first match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North and Central America, aespa members Karina and Winter, who were at the stadium, also shared their heartfelt reactions.
Visiting the venue for the World Cup match against the Czech Republic on the 12th, Winter posted a brief message on her social media, “...we won,” along with a Taegeukgi emoji.
In the accompanying photo, Winter covers her mouth with both hands, wearing a stunned expression. It captured the elation after witnessing the dramatic victory by South Korea.
Karina likewise posted a selfie taken in the stands after the match, writing, “It was so amazing and I cheered really hard. So moving... The players worked so hard.”

Earlier, the two had joined the on-site cheering even before kickoff. Karina shared photos and videos from the stadium with the message, “Go, players,” and Winter also posted a snapshot from the stadium with a Taegeukgi emoji, wishing the national team success.
In particular, they drew attention as broadcasts from various countries showed them in the stands wearing red cheering T-shirts symbolizing the national team and rooting passionately.
Meanwhile, the South Korea national football team (FIFA ranking 25), led by head coach Hong Myung-bo, defeated the Czech Republic (40) 2-1 in their Group A opener at Guadalajara Stadium in Mexico on the 12th (Korea time).
