Actor Kim Moo-yeol was overjoyed that the Korean national football team defeated the Czech Republic 2-1 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North and Central America.

In an interview with Sports Kyunghyang held in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 12th, Kim, referring to the national team securing a valuable first win against the Czech Republic just before the interview, said, “I am savoring the joy. Congratulations, truly.”

He said, “I did not see the first half because I was traveling to the interview location in the morning. Then, the moment I turned on the second half, our national team scored the equalizer.”

He continued, “After arriving here, I briefly turned off the broadcast to prepare for the interview. Then, when the interview meeting ended and I turned it on again, the national team scored the go-ahead goal,” and with a laugh added, “It is only my own thought, but I think I might be a victory fairy.”

Lastly, sending his congratulations to the national team, he added, “I hope they can ride this momentum and keep winning in the second and third matches as well.”
