In JTBC new Sat-Sun drama ‘Apartment’, Ji Sung delivers a charisma-packed first appearance as the former boss of the Oasis faction famed for ‘legendary 0% outstanding receivables’.
Scheduled to premiere on July 11 at 10:40 p.m., JTBC new Sat-Sun drama ‘Apartment’ (written by Kim Yoon-young, directed by Jo Yong-won, produced by SLL, Red Nine Pictures Co., Ltd.) is a life-immersed human drama about Park Hae-gang, a former boss of the Oasis faction who runs in the election for residents association chair to take over unaccounted money inside the apartment complex, joining with residents to stamp out corruption.
‘Apartment’ draws attention as a work that brings together writer Kim Yoon-young, who showcased solid writing through ‘Revenge Has Returned’, and director Jo Yong-won, who presented stylish direction in ‘Find the Child’ and won the directing award at the ‘Seoul Drama Awards’. On top of that, a fantastic lineup of acting powerhouses including Ji Sung, Ha Yoon-kyung, Park Byung-eun, and Moon So-ri is creating buzz.
Playing Park Hae-gang in ‘Apartment’, Ji Sung changes his look to embody the ultimate in charisma, seizing attention. There is a scene where Park Hae-gang (Ji Sung), whose front is HK Trading but who in truth operates an illegal gambling house exclusively for ‘credit grade 1 VIPs’, proves firsthand that he is the ‘legendary 0% outstanding receivables, king of collection’. Park Hae-gang shoots a razor-sharp gaze and exudes an overwhelming aura; upon entering the HK Trading office, he delivers an unhesitating briefing aimed at a member with unpaid balances and carries out a merciless collection, radiating a ruthless streak. Yet in the next scene, the eyes of Park Hae-gang, a rising ‘top tier’ boss, quiver subtly, arousing curiosity.
From his very first scene, Ji Sung showcased a complete transformation with a style and acting tone that mix not even 1g of his previous image, highlighting meticulous preparation. With slicked-back hair rising as high as his confidence and a neat luxury suit, he completed a weighty Park Hae-gang style, and through restrained expressions and speech he conveyed the thoroughness of Park Hae-gang that allows no openings, drawing admiration and raising expectations for what lies ahead.
