Band Soran is showing ‘perfect’ chemistry through unexpected pairings.
Soran is keeping the buzz going with the ‘ceremony duet challenge,’ assembling combinations that span idols, bands, artists, and entertainers.
Going beyond simple collaboration, their recent moves are drawing notice for bringing out the appeal of partner artists in their own way and creating a distinct atmosphere characteristic of Soran.
The digital single ‘ceremony,’ released on May 27, illustrates this trend well. With Miyeon of I-dle participating as a featuring artist, the single naturally blends Soran’s warm band sound with Miyeon’s clear vocals to complete a relaxed mood unique to the two artists, earning a positive response.
The ongoing ‘ceremony duet challenge’ after the release is also drawing attention. Soran has unveiled challenge content with a wide range of artists, including Andable Seung-eon, Kep1er Chaehyun, DAY6 Wonpil, Moon Se-yoon, Yuju, ZEROBASEONE Kim Tae-rae, ONF Hyojin, OWIS Soi, Song Eun-yi, Oh My Girl Hyojung, PLAVE Bambi, Lee Jae-yul, Kickflip Dong-hyun, Apink Namjoo, Hui, and &TEAM Uiju, creating broad-ranging combinations.
What stands out is the diversity of pairings. Even within a lineup that crosses fields from bands and idols to solo artists and entertainers, Soran creates a natural mood with each artist, comfortably drawing out different charms. Beyond simple short-form content, the fact that the vibe changes entirely depending on the partner is also one reason the ‘ceremony challenge’ continues to receive a strong response.
Expectations are also rising for additional challenge lineups to be revealed. With the announced pairings alone already drawing attention, interest continues in which artists Soran will show new chemistry with next.
The recently resumed content ‘Sipran’ is also adding to the delight. Reuniting with 10CM, with whom they have long maintained ties, they are receiving enthusiastic responses from many fans thanks to the two artists’ natural back-and-forth. The sense of stability and upbeat energy that come from the relationship itself are among the strengths that have kept Soran beloved for a long time.
Through the broadcast, Soran and 10CM stated, “We do not know how often we will do this, but we created a channel with the mindset of starting first and turned it on,” showing an exceptional rapport even in an unadorned setting. In particular, their natural conversation that comfortably plays off each other and the chemistry that comes from a long-standing friendship are, according to fans, providing another layer of fun.
They also hinted that the two artists’ pairing will be seen again on stage. As talk turned to the Mint Paper 20th anniversary joint concert scheduled for August 1 and 2, interest is growing in the stage Soran and 10CM, both long loved, will put together.
Soran has been a team that does not lose its own color even amid diverse collaborations and projects. On festival stages they have engaged audiences with cross-genre affinity, and through content they have created new atmospheres by harmonizing with partner artists. Their recent trajectory seems to be a period when those strengths of Soran are coming through even more clearly.
Soran plans to meet fans this July through the long-run small-theater concert brand ‘PERFECT DAY 12’. With activities spanning performances, content, and collaborations with diverse artists, there is anticipation for the new pairings and stories Soran will craft next.
