tvN ‘You Quiz on the Block’

Actors Lim Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-jun revealed the stories behind the iconic scenes and lines that drew attention in the SBS drama ‘Brave New World’.

On the 13th, the official SNS of tvN’s ‘You Quiz on the Block’ posted a teaser video along with the caption, “Iconic scenes and lines born from Seori and Segye’s ideas revealed! Seori era, you pass.”

The released video features Lim Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-jun, who will appear on the broadcast on the 17th. The two drew attention by revealing that the scenes in the drama ‘Brave New World’ that were much loved by viewers actually originated from ad-libs.

First, Lim Ji-yeon explained the much-talked-about ‘Seori era’ scene, saying, “Instead of just standing there, we suggested circling as if in a battle of nerves, and that’s how the scene came about.”

She went on, “For a scene like a ‘dropkick,’ I said, ‘We absolutely have to do this. No matter what, it will end with a dropkick,’ and that’s how the scene happened,” revealing she proposed the idea herself.

Lim Ji-yeon added, “Same with the scene where I get up on my kneesmaybe because I cherish Seori, when I lived and moved as Seori, ideas just kept bubbling up,” expressing her special affection for the character.

Heo Nam-jun also shared the origin story of an iconic scene. Referring to the moment where he looks at Seori’s photo and says, “I like it, you’re pretty, you pass,” he revealed, “That was an ad-lib, too.”

He continued, “They asked me to watch her as someone I like, but because we were filming for a long time, I ad-libbed something that felt like it would just come out in my real voice, and that’s how ‘I like it’ came out,” eliciting laughter.

Meanwhile, the episode of tvN’s ‘You Quiz on the Block’ featuring Lim Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-jun will air at 8:45 p.m. on the 17th.
