YouTuber Gwak Tube apologized for remarks made while watching a World Cup match.

On the 13th, on his YouTube channel, Gwak Tube said, “Because it was the first World Cup match, I got overly excited and used too many extreme expressions about Arsenal.”

He continued, “In trying to capture the on-site atmosphere, I included some expressions that were a bit excessive. I apologize to Arsenal fans, and I will try to watch my mouth and speak more appropriately next time.”

At a stadium in Guadalajara, Mexico, before the game between Korea and the Czech Republic, he watched the training session of the Korea national team, and at the request of a local Mexican outlet conducted an interview, drawing attention with scenes such as these.

The controversy stemmed from remarks he made while watching the match in person. Amid exclamations, cheering, and running commentary, Gwak Tube bluntly assessed the Czech national team’s second-half play: “Are they not playing football and only doing set pieces? He then said, “Is this Arsenal? Right now Korea is Man City and the Czech Republic is Arsenal.” After Tomas Soucek’s goal for the Czech national team was ruled offside, he criticized again, “Is this football? Is it football when everyone piles in and just heads the ball?” and added, “This is anti-football. What are they doing?”

However, after the video was released, as some viewers pointed out the remarks as “crossing the line,” he posted an apology in the video comments.
