KBS2 ‘Happy Together - Glad Not To Be Alone’

A ‘perfect talk combo’ bringing together Yoo Jae-suk, Jang Hang-jun, and Yoon Jong-shin has been teased.

Ahead of the first broadcast of KBS2’s new variety show ‘Happy Together - Glad Not To Be Alone’, the ‘The Man Living With Haetoo, First Reveal of the Thick-Rimmed-Glasses Trio’ Episode 0 video surpassed 600,000 views in a single day.

Premiering on the 10th of next month, ‘Happy Together - Glad Not To Be Alone’ (hereinafter ‘Haetoo’) is a storytelling music audition in which ‘Yoo Jae-suk, who listens to people, Jang Hang-jun, who listens to stories, and Yoon Jong-shin, who listens to music’ lend their ears to the narratives and harmonies of various ‘life teammates’.

It is a comeback project after six years for ‘Happy Together’, which was with viewers for a full 20 years from 2001 to 2020.

In the video released on the 13th via the official ‘Happy Together’ YouTube channel, the legends’ unfiltered talk, from their dating stories in their twenties to ganging up on ten-million director Jang Hang-jun, delivered hearty laughs and drew wide attention.

Regarding why he chose ‘Haetoo’ as his first variety comeback after becoming a ‘ten-million director’, Jang Hang-jun said, “Jong-shin asked, ‘What are we doing?’ and I don’t know either. We are going with it on trust in Jae-suk.”

Yoo Jae-suk’s moment as the newly reinstated youngest, playing the ‘errand-runner’, also offered a different kind of cheerfulness. He perfectly handled not only the two seniors’ picky coffee orders but even the self-service.

Even so, Yoo Jae-suk claimed, “In fact, I raised both of them in variety shows. I even washed Jong-shin,” and Yoon Jong-shin slyly replied, “You scrubbed me so much I got a rash.”

The three also expressed their anticipation for the stage ahead of the first recording. This ‘Haetoo’ is a music audition that listens to the songs and narratives of two or more ‘life teammates’.

Jang Hang-jun joked, “Jae-suk will host, I will watch, and Jong-shin has to judge,” and Yoo Jae-suk said with anticipation, “I am curious what stories will come out. These people’s stories are more important than the best song.”

Yoon Jong-shin showed his credentials as an audition expert, saying, “It has to be enjoyable to listen to. When there is a story, the song becomes moving,” heightening curiosity about the stories of the various life mates on ‘Haetoo’ that will make them laugh and cry.

In this way, over roughly 30 minutes of Episode 0, the legendary chemistry of Yoo Jae-suk, Jang Hang-jun, and Yoon Jong-shin, who showed wall-to-wall audio and perfect rapid-fire back-and-forth chatter, raised expectations and stoked curiosity for the ‘Happy Together’ they will host together.
