KMLIA KINDIE Lounge
From Kwon So-jeong to Son Tae-jin….
KINDIE Lounge, operated by the Korea Music Label Industry Association (KMLIA), introduced four noteworthy new indie releases for the second week of June.
First, Kwon So-jeong of the Mound Media label tapes released the EP ‘Fort’. ‘Fort’ is a work that captures the process of seeking a fortress of the mind to protect oneself while facing the gap between the hope and anxiety that love brings, and between reality and ideals. Following the EP ‘BORN’, a person who has come to understand the self speaks about love and self-acceptance, unfolding a delicate emotional arc.
The band HASE under No Mercy Company released its third EP ‘Goeihyeonsang’. Inspired by uncanny beings from traditional folklore, this album narratively depicts the opening of a new age of darkness through four tracks: ‘Guimun’, ‘Aggwi’, ‘Dueoksini’, and ‘Class Of Villain’. It is characterized by intense band sound that carries stories of fear and desire, domination and succession.
The singer-songwriter Yuri Kim under Hux Music unveiled her debut single ‘Blue Days’. Nicknamed ‘the Yangpyeong girl from France’, Yuri Kim unfolds, with a plain and sincere mood, the precious memories shared with school friends and the blue moments of youth. She sings of the value of an ordinary day that shines even more after it has passed.
The singer Son Tae-jin of Mystic Story presented the remake album ‘Summer Perfume’. This album reinterprets classics long loved over time with Son Tae-jin in deeply resonant vocals and sensibility, putting forward as triple title tracks ‘Lodger’, ‘Where There Is Singing’, and ‘I Will Love (Duet With Na Moon-hee)’. In particular, ‘I Will Love’, created together with actor Na Moon-hee, conveys emotion that bridges generations and drew great attention even before release.
Meanwhile, ‘KINDIE Magazine’, an indie music magazine published by KINDIE Lounge, issued its first number of 2026 early this month. The cover of the first issue of the year was graced by the singer-songwriter Gugu, the winner of the rookie discovery project ‘Won Konkool 2026’ by Mint Paper, who dreams of being ‘A Rookie Who Wants to Be a Rookie’.
