Dowoon of the band DAY6 is facing a heavy backlash over dating rumors. Allegations have even arisen that he invited influencer Yoo Ji-yoo, identified as his girlfriend, to a fan event venue, drawing protests of ‘deceiving fans’.
Recently, posts on online communities claimed that Dowoon invited Yoo Ji-yoo to a DAY6 fan event location, prompting backlash.

A vlog that Yoo Ji-yoo uploaded to her YouTube channel on October 6 last year has become an issue. She appeared to be filming a routine vlog of visiting a restaurant, but, coincidentally, the words ‘Day6’ and the fandom name ‘My Day’ (written in Korean) were captured on camera.
The location was known to be a limited collaboration venue held to mark DAY6’s 10th debut anniversary. As seen on the table in the video, it bore the fandom name ‘My Day’, and the interior was also decorated with DAY6-related phrases and ornaments. Competition among fans to attend was intense, and Yoo Ji-yoo’s presence at a highly contested, reservation-only event sparked controversy, with accusations such as ‘Is this girlfriend privilege?’ and ‘deceiving fans’.
Last month, Dowoon was embroiled in dating and marriage rumors with Yoo Ji-yoo. At the time, an online post claiming “Dowoon and Yoo Ji-yoo recently met with a wedding planner for a consultation” spread quickly across communities, and pieces of what appeared to be so-called ‘lovestagram’ evidence by Yoo Ji-yoo and Dowoon were presented, intensifying the dating suspicions.
However, his agency, JYP Entertainment, drew a line, saying “no comment”.
Afterward, Dowoon did share his feelings on a communication platform, but he omitted any stance on the dating rumors, disappointing many. He said, “Our team will never disappear. I am not going anywhere, and do not even look at negative posts. For the time being, even if you see posts about me, ignore them. I am sorry for making you hurt,” but he kept silent about the dating rumors, drawing criticism that it was a cowardly explanation.
Meanwhile, Yoo Ji-yoo, who has been swept up in dating rumors with Dowoon, is an influencer and the younger sister of YouTuber Yoo Hye-joo from ‘Ulzzang Generation’.
