Musical actor Kim Ho-young confessed that he experienced the first burnout of his life.
On the 7th, the YouTube channel ‘Too Much Kim Ho-young’ showed Kim Ho-young spending time with musical actor Choi Jung-won.
That day, Kim Ho-young said, “While rehearsing the musical ‘Lempicka’ this time, I reunited with my senior in a production after 14 years. In the period when I was in the middle of ‘Kinky Boots’ and then entered rehearsals for ‘Lempicka’, I felt for the first time in my life, ‘so this is burnout’. It was a really difficult time.”
He continued, “I called senior Jung-won and, while talking, tears burst out” and recalled, “I am not the type who cries easily anywhere. If anything, I make others cry rather than cry myself, yet tears came.”
The reason he experienced burnout was a line in the show.

Kim Ho-young said, “There is a line the character Marinetti says in Act 2. I said the lines would not stick because they are words I do not use in everyday life, and she told me, ‘Because you are the one saying words you do not use in everyday life, that is exactly what makes it so cool’” and added, “‘Ah, so that is why it is cool?’ ‘So that is why it is hard?’ My mindset changed in an instant. She is the one who enabled me to shift my thinking,” expressing his gratitude.
In response, Choi Jung-won said, “He actually did it in a very cool way. From the very first reading, (Ho-young) had become a different person. I knew then: ‘the defining role for Ho-young had arrived’” and encouraged him, saying, “He sometimes grumbles, but to my eyes he looks happy, and it is a process of growth. It is the desire to get ahead of others. That too-much quality is very positive in that he loves more than others, gives more, and works hard, thereby raising his own quality.”
Meanwhile, Ock Joo-hyun, a musical actor formerly of Fin.K.L, recently revived the so-called ‘Okjangpan’ controversy involving Kim Ho-young, drawing attention.

The ‘Okjangpan’ controversy began in 2022 when Kim Ho-young posted on his social networking service (SNS), “Asaripan is an old saying. Now it is Okjangpan.” At the time, in relation to casting for the musical ‘Elisabeth’, suspicions surfaced that Ock Joo-hyun had inserted an actor from the same agency, leading to speculation that it was taking aim at Ock Joo-hyun.
In response, Ock Joo-hyun denied the allegations and filed a defamation complaint against Kim Ho-young, while Kim Ho-young explained that he had not targeted Ock Joo-hyun and signaled he would respond. However, as criticism grew, including many musical actors issuing appeals, Ock Joo-hyun ultimately withdrew the complaint.
Yet on the 6th, on a fan communication platform, she brought up the incident again, appealed about the damage and pain she had suffered since, and, saying, “If those words were not directed at me, I want to ask why so many people thought of me,” also indirectly called for clarification.
