Hanwha Eagles foreign pitcher Wang Yen-cheng has finally become a ‘seongdeok (successful fan)’ after 11 years of devoted fandom.
On the 8th, the Hanwha Eagles official YouTube channel ‘Eagles TV’ posted a video titled ‘11-year ONCE (TWICE fan club) Wang Yen-cheng, dream achieved!’
The video vividly captured Wang Yen-cheng, unable to hide his excitement at meeting Nayeon of the group TWICE, who served as the ceremonial first pitcher that day, ahead of the Hanwha Eagles vs. LG Twins game of the ‘2026 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League’ held at Jamsil Baseball Stadium on the 4th.

Known as an avid fan of TWICE, Wang Yen-cheng is, as of this year, an 11-year ONCE. Considering TWICE debuted in 2015, he has been a steadfast supporter since their earliest days.
The video begins with teammate Lee Sang-gyu, formerly of the LG Twins, tipping Wang Yen-cheng off about the time for Nayeon to throw the first pitch. Hearing the news, Wang Yen-cheng could not hide his excitement, bouncing on his feet like a child.
In particular, he said, “I heard there was a TWICE pop-up store near our accommodation in Seoul, so I took a taxi there myself and bought a doll,” revealing his exceptional fandom by procuring a doll to receive an autograph from Nayeon.

Wang Yen-cheng kept nervously memorizing the Korean expressions he planned to say to Nayeon, “11-year ONCE” and “Let us take a photo.” However, when Nayeon actually appeared before him, he froze completely.
Because he was too nervous to speak, the production staff stepped in, explained his 11-year fandom to Nayeon, and even handed him the doll he had forgotten, helping him obtain an autograph without a hitch.
After the dreamlike meeting ended, Wang Yen-cheng seemed to go weak in the knees and stagger, drawing laughter. Soon after, he could not contain his happiness, proudly showing the autograph to his teammates.

Reactions from baseball fans and netizens to Wang Yen-cheng's pure, unexpectedly charming side have also been explosive. Fans who watched the video commented, “He looks happier than after his first career win,” and “This is the first time I learned Yen-cheng had such a shy side,” offering cheerful congratulations.
