Young K of the idol band DAY6 amplified curiosity with a thought-provoking story in the concept film for his second solo studio album.

On the 27th, Young K will release his second studio album ‘YOUNGEST’ and return as a solo artist after about two years and ten months. Following an image posted on the 6th to DAY6 official social media channels announcing the solo release, he raised anticipation by unveiling two videos on the afternoon of the 7th that offer a glimpse of the album concept.

In the concept film that begins with the phrase ‘THE YOUNGEST SHOW’, Young K carries on an interview with a subtly tense, curious mood. Multiple doors repeatedly open and close, while intricately tangled ropes pull at him. The mysterious phenomena continue, with light seeping through a crack in an open door to illuminate Young K.

In the second video, which presents a mood opposite to the earlier clip, Young K, facing another version of himself, wears a faint smile. In particular, the closing message, “NOT GONNA LET ANYONE HURT ME ANYMORE”, heightens curiosity about the musical narrative contained in the new album ‘YOUNGEST’.

Since debuting with DAY6 in September 2015, Young K has been directly involved in writing and composing, producing numerous memorable songs such as ‘Congratulations’, ‘You Were Beautiful’, and ‘So It Can Become a Page’, offering empathy and comfort to many. Recently, he has continued his activities across various variety programs, drama OST performances, and his personal YouTube channel, showcasing his versatile appeal. With ‘YOUNGEST’, his new release as a solo musician for the first time in a while since his first studio album in September 2023, ‘Letters with notes’, anticipation is building for the story he will unfold.

The second solo studio album from Young K, ‘YOUNGEST’, will be officially released at 6 p.m. on July 27.
