Actor Youn Yuh-jung has been nominated for the Emmy Awards, the most prestigious television awards in the United States, for Season 2 of Netflix drama ‘Angry People’.
On the 8th (local time), the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS) announced the list of nominees for the 78th Emmy Awards. Youn Yuh-jung was nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actress category.
In the series, Youn Yuh-jung portrays Chairman Park, a Korean billionaire who newly acquires a country club. Together with Song Kang-ho as Dr. Kim, the two play a married couple with a mysterious secret.

Previously, in 2021, Youn Yuh-jung became the first Korean actor to win Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for the film ‘Minari’. If she also wins at the Emmys, Youn Yuh-jung will set the record as the first Korean to win the Emmy for Supporting Actress.
At the Emmys in 2022, Lee Jung-jae won Lead Actor in a Drama Series for the Netflix series ‘Squid Game’, and in the same year, Jung Ho-yeon was nominated for Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for ‘Squid Game’.
‘Angry People 2’ received nominations in a total of 16 categories, including for Youn Yuh-jung. The 78th Emmy Awards ceremony will take place on September 14 at the Pigok Theater in Los Angeles (LA), United States.
