Channel A program ‘Baseball Queen 2’ returns with a stronger lineup.
On the afternoon of the 9th in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, Channel A held a press conference for ‘Baseball Queen 2’. Attendees included PD Shin Jae-ho, writer Kang Suk-kyung, manager Choo Shin-soo, as well as players Kim On-a, Ayaka, Song A, Joo Su-jin, Park Ha-yan, and Jang Su-young. Sportscaster Lee Kwang-yong served as host.
PD Shin said, “The biggest difference from Season 1 is skill. The existing players practiced a great deal, and we reinforced the roster with talented new players to build an unbeatable powerhouse.”
He then singled out Song A as the player he is most looking forward to in Season 2. He said, “In Season 1 her powerful hitting stood out; this time, please look forward to her as a pitcher,” and added, “She trained so much that she would message coach Yoon Suk-min on KakaoTalk whenever she had a chance to ask about her pitching form. Coach Yoon was left speechless. You will see a player who can both pitch and hit.”

Manager Choo named Lee Soo-yeon as the player he has poured the most affection into. He explained, “From Season 1 I thought she was a player who had not been able to break through the wall of development relative to her tools,” and continued, “Her tools are good, but it was disappointing that she had not taken the next step. If we did Season 2, I wanted to make sure she grew and became a player who is always in the lineup.”
He added, “Her passion is strong and I believed she would help the team, so I watched over her with a bit more affection than the others.”
New member Ayaka also signaled a transformation. Ayaka said, “This season I am not the youngest. I am in very good condition, and because I had many regrets about last season, I trained a lot as a pitcher,” and expressed confidence by adding, “I hope you will look forward to it.”
Meanwhile, writer Kang Suk-kyung said, “As many as 308 former athletes applied for the Season 2 trial,” and continued, “We selected from athletes across 47 sports. International matches are also on the way, and our players have a strong competitive drive, so they are even better suited for international play.”
‘Baseball Queen 2’ is a sports variety show in which former and current female sports legends from various disciplines challenge for the title at a national women baseball tournament, and it premieres at 10 p.m. on the 9th.
