The ‘Original Summer Queens’ BBGIRLS are returning to the music scene with a new summer song. Signaling healthy, bright energy that will blow away the sweltering heat at once, they are ready to take charge of the public playlists this summer.

According to agency GLG, BBGIRLS (Minyoung, Eunji, Yuna) will release their new single ‘BODY WAVE(바디 웨이브)’ through various online music platforms at 6 p.m. on the 16th. The new song is their first release in about one year and two months since the remake ‘Hopes’ unveiled in May last year.

Ahead of the comeback, on the 8th, individual concept photos of Minyoung, revealed first via the official social networking service (SNS), pushed expectations for the new track to a peak.

In the released photos, Minyoung shows off a toned, healthy look in sporty cropped outfits against the backdrop of a blue swimming pool. In cuts pairing a white top with black shorts, she creates a sophisticated yet chic mood. Her confident gaze into the lens and breezy styling vividly showcase BBGIRLS’ signature positive team color, prompting the reaction, ‘In summer, it has to be BBGIRLS’.

Previously, on the 1st, BBGIRLS announced their comeback directly to fans through a live broadcast on their official YouTube channel. From the title alone, ‘BODY WAVE’ overflows with a summer vibe; packed with a cool, refreshing sensibility unique to BBGIRLS, it hints at the birth of another powerful summer song.

Debuting in 2011, BBGIRLS won overwhelming public support through back-on-the-charts success stories with the mega hits ‘Rollin’(Rollin’)‘ and ’We Ride(We Ride)‘. Then in 2024, they announced a fresh start as a three-member lineup under their current agency GLG, and by releasing their second single ’LOVE 2(러브 투)‘ they once again showcased their prowess, sparking another back-on-the-charts syndrome.

Then in May last year, they remade the song ‘Hopes’ by Byun Jin-sub, with the members directly taking part in rewriting the lyrics to infuse it with BBGIRLS’ own sensibility. Through this, they delivered wistful nostalgia to the generation of the original song and a fresh retro vibe to Gen MZ, and they solidified their bond with the fandom by successfully holding their first official fan meeting.

With each promotion, BBGIRLS have dominated the summer music scene with ear-catching, highly addictive music and distinctive performances.
