Entrepreneur and broadcaster Hong Young-gi, a ‘first-generation ulzzang’, candidly confessed everything from the story of receiving fan letters from prison during her heyday to behind-the-scenes about her early marriage, drawing attention.

Appearing on Tak Jae-hoon’s YouTube channel ‘Noppakku’ on the 8th, Hong shared behind-the-scenes from her peak in the 2000s, when her Cyworld Minihompy recorded ‘10,000 visitors’. At the time, as a second-year middle school student, she became explosively popular among teenagers thanks to her cute, chestnut-like face and curvy figure.

Recalling her exceptional popularity at school, Hong amazed viewers by saying, “I had boyfriends on a part-time basis one who came to pick me up for school, one who came to pick me up after school, and one who went to the cram school with me.”

In particular, she revealed that in high school, fan letters sometimes arrived at her school from prison, shocking those around her. When Tak Jae-hoon asked whether she was not scared, Hong gave an offbeat answer that provoked laughter: “I was not scared at all; I thought it was so moving that, because of me, they could spend their time happily even in prison. I resolved to work even harder.”

She then spoke frankly about the behind-the-scenes of her pregnancy and marriage with her husband, Lee Se-yong, who is three years younger. Hong, who became pregnant when she was 21 and her husband was 18 and underage, recalled, “When I went to tell my mother-in-law about the pregnancy, I wore a tight-fitting Hollister T-shirt, very short Robinson jeans, and slippers. It felt like my mother-in-law was holding back a lot of anger,” eliciting laughter.

She also revealed a bittersweet story about her husband undergoing a vasectomy at the early age of 21. “I told him to do it right after the first child, but he said, ‘There is absolutely no way a second will happen; I can control it.’ Then we had a second, and he ended up being dragged along without a peep,” she said, adding, “The doctor felt sorry about performing a vasectomy at such a young age and threw in a circumcision as a service,” sending the studio into an uproar.

She did not hide her honest regrets about marrying early. When Tak Jae-hoon asked, “Have you ever wondered what it would have been like if you had not married so early?”, Hong replied, “Yes. I want to meet men around the world. I am curious about all races from every country,” a bombshell remark that flustered Tak.
