Actor Jo I-Geon Spring ENT
On the 9th, it was announced that actor Jo I-Geon, who appeared as the catfish man on the OTT Netflix variety show ‘Single’s Inferno 5’, has been confirmed to be cast as the lead in the occult short-form drama ‘Lucky Horror Live Show’.
‘Lucky Horror Live Show’(directed by Eom Se-Hyeon/written by Lee Su-Jin/produced by Showbox Co., Ltd., and Hitmakers Co., Ltd.) is a live-streaming occult short-form drama in which YouTubers, chasing views, meddle with a cursed chest and awaken a real evil spirit.
In ‘Lucky Horror Live Show’, Jo I-Geon takes on the role of Mujin, an exorcism YouTuber who, after leaving the monastery without being ordained, lives by performing fake exorcisms under the name Father Gabriel, marking a bold transformation.
In the story, Mujin is someone who rejects his family’s lineage of seeing spirits and tries, unsuccessfully, to hide behind divine authority. Outwardly he appears cool-headed and charismatic, but inside he is a complex character who is constantly shaken by insecurities and fear. In particular, Mujin confronts head-on the evil spirit that hounds him as a ‘man without faith’, driving the drama’s tension.
Through the role of the fake exorcism YouTuber Mujin in ‘Lucky Horror Live Show’, Jo I-Geon breaks free from the flashy, looks-centered buzz he earned on variety shows and imprints his presence as a complete actor. Building on the acting skills he has accumulated, he portrays a three-dimensional character whose wavering inner self lies behind a cold charisma, further cementing his footing as an actor.
With a commanding, distinctive aura on screen and a groundbreaking character unlike anything seen before, attention is focused on Jo I-Geon’s performance, which will prove his abilities as a super rookie actor.
The short-form drama ‘Lucky Horror Live Show’, starring Jo I-Geon, is slated to be released sometime in 2026.
