Actor Park Sung-woong candidly shared his true feelings about his signature film "New World".

On the morning of the 4th, at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, meeting with Sports Kyunghyang, Park confessed, "There was a time when I tried to shed the 'New World' image."

He said, "For about five to ten years after 'New World,' the stress was considerable," adding, "Wherever I went, people kept bringing up Jung-gu hyung-nim, so I thought I had to break away from it."

However, his thinking changed. Park said, "At some point I thought, 'Why did I even try to get away from it?'" and laughed, "How many actors have a character and catchphrases like that? I'm one of a kind, aren't I?"

He continued, "Even now, 20-year-olds imitate lines like 'I'll let you live' and 'Even if you're on your way out, one cigarette should be fine.' It's not like I've taken a break from acting, and even though I do five to six projects every year, the fact that there's a character that keeps being loved is something I'm grateful for."

He added, "Now I want to be an actor who does both noir and comedy. It's not about trying to shed the 'New World' image; my goal is to be an actor who can do this and that as well."

Meanwhile, the film "Okay Madam 2" starring Park Sung-woong is a comic action movie about Lee Mi-young (Uhm Jung-hwa) and her family, who set off on a luxury cruise to escape the heat and become entangled in an unexpected incident. Following the previous installment, Uhm Jung-hwa, Park Sung-woong, Lee Sang-yoon, and Bae Jung-nam star again, with Park Jin-joo, Ryeoun, and Choi Soo-young newly joining. It opens on August 12.
