A large-scale survival-style voting campaign aimed at the trot fandom is set to kick off.

The fandom voting platform REMATCH announced that, starting August 7, it will hold the tournament vote ‘Trot War – The Last Throne (TROT WAR : THE LAST THRONE)’ featuring 32 trot singers.

This campaign features 32 nominees, including Kim Yong-bin, Son Tae-jin, Choi Woo-jin, Hwang Young-woong, as well as Son Bin-a, Enoch, Jin Hae-sung, Cheon Rok-dam, Lim Young-woong, Young-tak, Lee Chan-won, Kim Hee-jae, Kim Soo-chan, Park Seo-jin, Shin Sung, Yang Ji-won, Min Su-hyun, Kim Eui-young, Choi Su-ho, Choi Jae-myung, Namgung Jin, Kang Moon-kyung, Seong-ri, Hong Ji-yoon, Kim Da-hyun, Jung Seo-joo, Jung Yoo-jin, Bin Ye-seo, Lee Soo-yeon, Kim So-yeon, Lee So-na, and Miss Kim.

The competition will use a 1-on-1, single-elimination tournament format. Beginning at the Round of 32 and proceeding through the Round of 16, quarterfinals, and semifinals to the final, a total of 31 matches will be held, with matches in each round taking place simultaneously. For the Round of 32, 16 matchups open at once, and fans can vote in the matchup featuring the singer they support.

The schedule is as follows: the Round of 32 runs for five days from August 7 to 11, the Round of 16 (August 12~16) and the quarterfinals (August 17~21) also run for five days each. The semifinals are held from August 24 to 30, and the final from August 31 to September 6, each for seven days. All voting opens at 12:00 p.m. and closes at 3:00 p.m.

The overall winner will receive three days of exposure on a large outdoor billboard at Shinjuku Station in Japan and three days on a large indoor billboard at Times Square in Yeongdeungpo, Korea. The Shinjuku Station exposure, where foot traffic is concentrated, is notable as an opportunity to promote the artist to overseas fans beyond the domestic fandom.

Voting can be done through the REMATCH and JK FANDOM apps, and votes from the two apps are tallied together. The combined standings and the complete bracket are disclosed via the integrated voting site. Only in the Round of 32 and the Round of 16 is one free vote per account per day provided; from the quarterfinals onward, the event proceeds without free votes.

“We focused on creating a structure that can bring together the firepower of the trot fandom,” a REMATCH representative said, adding, “The winner will be given a practical opportunity to make their presence known not only domestically but also locally in Japan.”
