The girl group ILLIT has broken their own local record for first-week sales in Japan with their second Japanese single.

According to Oricon Japan on the 5th, ILLIT (Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, Iroha) saw the second Japanese single ‘I Got Your Back’ sell 71,009 copies in its first week, placing No. 4 on the latest ‘Weekly Single Ranking’ (dated August 10 / tracking period July 27August 2). This marks their highest first-week sales on that chart.

The title track is likewise showing a strong presence on local music-streaming charts. ‘I Got Your Back (Feat. JISOO, MOMOKA of HANA)’ hit No. 1 on the AWA real-time soaring chart immediately after release and has consistently held high positions, and it has landed within the rankings on major charts including Line Music, Apple Music Japan, and Spotify Japan.

The bubbly ‘ILLIT core’ vibe in the music video is also drawing positive responses. The music video for ‘I Got Your Back (Feat. JISOO, MOMOKA of HANA)’ ranked on YouTube Global ‘Weekly Top Music Videos’ (tracking period July 24July 30), reflecting worldwide interest in ILLIT. Many note that the synergy created by ILLIT, a leading group in both Korea and Japan, together with JISOO and MOMOKA of HANA brings an invigorating lift.

Their onstage performances also stood out. On the 3rd, they appeared on the flagship Fuji TV morning program ‘Mezamashi TV’ and TBS music show ‘CDTV Live! Live!’, captivating viewers with steady live vocals and energetic performances. The following day (the 4th), at Toyosu PIT in Tokyo during the large-scale Japanese festival ‘Mezamashi WANGAN Festival’, they heated up the venue with a joint stage alongside the popular idol group CUTIE STREET.

ILLIT plan to engage closely with local audiences through various outdoor shows. On August 8 they will hold a release event at the Festival Plaza on the 2F of DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, and on the 9th they will take the stage at ‘Lucky Festival 2026’ (LuckyFes’26), continuing the momentum of their comeback.
