Actor Choi Jae-won is returning with ‘Trap of Desire’.

His agency Blue Dragon Entertainment announced on the 6th, “Choi Jae-won will appear in KBS2's new daily drama ‘Trap of Desire’ (written by Gu Ji-won, directed by Lee Dae-kyung·Jung Kwang-su).”

Planned as a 100-episode series, ‘Trap of Desire’ is a revenge drama about a woman robbed of her life by a false murder accusation, who stands up to immense desire to restore her fate.

In the drama, Choi Jae-won plays Go Gi-han. Go Gi-han is the ultimate in indecision and incompetence; he has no malice, but lacking courage, he ends up hurting others. He sets out to clear his daughter Go Eun-seol (played by Jeon Hye-won) of false charges, but, being naive about the ways of the world, he is swindled, eliciting sympathy. Choi Jae-won is expected to heighten immersion in the series by delicately portraying the complex emotions of Go Gi-han, where his goodness yet frustrating side, belated regret, and a mix of guilt and responsibility toward his daughter intersect.

Over the years, Choi Jae-won has continued steady work as an actor, leaving a strong impression in various projects including KBS1 ‘Gold and Jade’ and ENA ‘The Moon Rising in the Day’. Recently, in the concluded variety show ‘My Kid's Romance 2’, he drew viewers' empathy and laughter with the realistic image of a father watching his daughter's dating life, over-immersed reactions, and witty talk, and he is currently active as an MC on SBS Golf ‘The Reason You Play Golf Well’ and TV Chosun ‘Healthy House’.

As Choi Jae-won showcases his versatility, moving between acting and MC roles, anticipation is building for what kind of transformative performance will captivate viewers in ‘Trap of Desire’.

KBS2 ‘Trap of Desire’ will premiere at 7:50 p.m. on August 10 as the successor to ‘Red Pearl’.
