Sound Alliance is moving to fully establish an eco-friendly performance model, beginning with the ‘Sustainable Wave Festival’.
Sound Alliance, a specialist in concert and festival production and performance-technology solutions, and Eon Earth, a mobile energy storage system (ESS) solutions company, have joined hands to expand eco-friendly performance initiatives.
On the 5th, Sound Alliance and Eon Earth signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) for cooperation on building an eco-friendly performance model and related businesses.
Based on the agreement, the two companies will pursue: ▲ applying mobile ESS solutions from Eon Earth at concerts and festivals organized by Sound Alliance ▲ reducing carbon emissions, noise, and fine dust by replacing diesel generators ▲ jointly planning eco-friendly content and ESG campaigns ▲ expanding cooperation into new projects such as exhibitions and media art.
Founded in 2018, Sound Alliance is a comprehensive live entertainment company that provides services across the performance industryincluding sound, video, design, and music productioncentered on concert and festival production and performance-technology solutions. It has collaborated with leading domestic entertainment and content companies such as HYBE, JYP Entertainment, and CJ ENM, delivering performances by a variety of K-pop artists in Korea and overseas. It also handles production and technical operations for visiting performances by overseas artists, as well as for musicals and festivals.
The company is also developing adjacent businesses based on performances, including media video production, music production, and recording, and is investing in building an eco-friendly performance model grounded in its accumulated production experience and technical capabilities.
As part of those efforts, it will oversee the carbon-neutral-oriented music festival ‘Sustainable Wave Festival (SUSTAINABLE WAVE FESTIVAL) 2026’, to be held at Incheon Munhak Stadium from the 29th to the 30th. Leading Korean artists including god, Epik High, and Highlight will take part, and the festival is expected to present new possibilities for eco-friendly performance models in the Korean live entertainment industry.
Founded in 2020, Eon Earth developed the mobile ESS ‘indego’ and supplies eco-friendly power solutions that replace diesel generators at local events, festivals, construction sites, and disaster areas. It possesses the technological capability to develop core components in-housefrom battery packs to power conversion systems (PCS) and energy management systems (EMS)and entered the market through a regulatory sandbox demonstration exemption for industrial convergence, highlighting up to a 73% reduction in greenhouse gases compared with diesel generators.
It also secured public-sector performance by signing an exclusive supply contract for the Ministry of Environment mobile charging vehicle procurement program, and recently expanded into industrial sites by delivering the ‘indego Station’, which combines a 200 kW fast charger with a 330 kWh ESS, to an LS affiliate.
In February, it signed an agreement with Tof Mobility to build electrification infrastructure for advanced air mobility (AAM), thereby expanding collaboration into the public, industrial, and aviation sectors. With the agreement with Sound Alliance, it also plans to expand its business into the performance and cultural content industries.
Moves toward carbon neutrality are also spreading across the global live performance scene. The ‘Massive Attack – Act 1.5’ show in Bristol, UK, drew worldwide attention by cutting carbon emissions by about 98%, and events such as ‘We Love Green’ in Paris, France, are also leading eco-friendly live performance culture.
In line with this trend, Sound Alliance and Eon Earth will use this agreement to pursue the first project applying eco-friendly power solutions to the performance industry and will begin in earnest to build an ESG-based eco-friendly performance model.
Sound Alliance CEO Han Moon-gyu said, “Even in the performance industry, the time has come when carbon reduction can no longer be postponed, yet it is also true that, in reality, conditions make it difficult to actively adopt green technologies. We hope this agreement will offer new possibilities and become a catalyst for tangible change for an industry that has struggled to apply sustainability on the ground.”
He added, “We will make this ‘Sustainable Wave Festival’ the first project of the eco-friendly performance model and will continue to create models that practically apply ESG factors from the production stage to power operations.”
Eon Earth CEO Heo Eun said, “Performance and event sites require large-scale power, so the sector has long had a high reliance on diesel generators,” adding, “Through the agreement with Sound Alliance, we will establish the foundation to apply eco-friendly power solutions to the Korean performance industry.”
