MBN ‘Legendary Man’
Singer Hwang Yoon-sung blossomed with charm as he delivered a seamless stage with his father on a music program and even showed pink-hued chemistry with So Yoomi.
On the broadcast aired on the 5th, MBN ‘Legendary Man’ was presented as a family Blue vs. White special. Hwang Yoon-sung appeared on the White Team with his father, Hwang Nam-su, and made his presence felt with cheerful wit and solid vocals.
Before the stage, Hwang Nam-su introduced himself by saying, “I am Hwang Nam-su, father of my handsome son Yoon-sung, whose face alone is beautiful,” prompting laughter from the start. In response, Hwang Yoon-sung said, “I inherited tremendous comedic sense and flair from my father,” and added, “In Cheongju, he is so popular that people recognize him even at restaurants,” proudly showing their warm fatherson bond.
Facing off against the Blue Team’s Jung Yeon-ho and his father, Hwang and his father chose ‘Gangwon-do Arirang’ and delivered a lively performance. Even before the song fully began, Hwang showed off soaring high notes, and among the cast came exclamations of “We won.”
Amid the upbeat rhythm, Hwang kept unwavering live vocals and stable singing, showing natural harmony with his father. The two drew enthusiastic responses from the audience and heated up the venue.
During the dance time, he performed a dance with his father, and at the end they looked at each other as they sang and wrapped up with a hand-heart pose, conveying warm family affection. Although they narrowly lost to Jung Yeon-ho and his father, they left a strong impression with flawless fatherson synergy.
In the ensuing special match, he faced the Hong Seung-hyun brothers and, together with So Yoomi, performed Seol Woon-do’s ‘Please Be My Lover.’ Before the song, So Yoomi said, “Among my fellow singers, I think Yoon-sung is the kindest and most handsome. I often thought that if I had a biological younger brother, I would want one like him.”
When Yang Se-hyung asked, “Did you really think of him only as a younger brother?” she replied, “Before he went to the military, he truly felt like a little brother, but after he came back, he became a man,” creating a subtle vibe. The cast members cheered them on, shouting, “Date!”
Hwang Yoon-sung knelt before So Yoomi, met her eyes, and began to sing, stirring hearts. With his signature sweet tone, he brought out the emotion of the song, exchanging natural harmonies with So Yoomi and tinting the scene pink. Although they narrowly lost to the Hong Seung-hyun brothers, he showcased another color with a highly polished duet stage.
With his father, Hwang Yoon-sung offered warm family affection and excitement, and with So Yoomi he delivered fluttering romance, proving his wide-ranging charm. On top of steady live vocals and stable stage manners, his witty talk further enriched ‘Legendary Man,’ imprinting his presence once again.
As a TOP7 member of ‘Mumyeongjeonseol,’ which continues a nationwide tour concert, Hwang Yoon-sung is actively working across broadcasts and stages.
